Happy Holidays!

Holiday celebrations continued at our December potluck-and-knitting meeting. And, welcome to new member Leona. You may know Leona as one of the “scone ladies” at the Washington State Fair; she also is an experienced knitter and crocheter.

All of the potluck dishes — such as salmon chowder, potato casserole, holiday breads, cakes, and other yummies — were delicious. Thank you!

Lisa won a best-in-category ribbon at the Pierce County Fair for her mitts. Yay, Lisa!

We also want to thank Joy and Cindy for giving us another stash dive today. All of the yarn will be used for wonderful knits for family, friends, and the community. Thank you!

Patʼs cozy blanket
And from the past …

July Meeting

Tuesday, July 11
9:30 am

Bring your knitting projects, finished projects, and your name tag. It also is helpful if you know the pattern name and yarn for your projects.

Especially for purple hat and baby blanket knitters: Sue will bring a supply of yarn in many hues and shades of purple and a supply of yarns of various colors for baby blankets. This supply (about four grocery bags of yarn) should cover lots of little heads and bodies.

Full House for June

Nineteen people! That is how many knitters participated in the June meeting. We had many long-time members and some newer members. Hooray! There is always room for more, so invite your crafty friends.

Just a few of the beautiful knitting projects that was on show:

Carlaʼs Guernsey Wrap (a fun pattern that
has been popular among PKG members)
Chrisʼs handsome Timeʼs a Thief Scarf
Jeanʼs purple baby hats
Karenʼs afghan
Karinʼs sweater (Karin is a big fan of Rowan yarns)
Lorraineʼs Knit Night Hat (and isnʼt that an
interesting and pretty brim treatment!)
Pamʼs block pattern blanket
Jeannieʼs hats
Jeannie is almost done with her hat project. Jeannie vowed to knit 65 hats for homeless people to honor her upcoming birthday. She has already finished 60 of the 65. Congratulations, Jeannie! And happy birthday!
