Celebrating Our Knitting

Our annual potluck brunch brought out a lot of tasty food and yummy knitting. On the food menu, we enjoyed meatballs, spinach dip, nachos, scones, pizzelle, cakes, vegetables, and so much more. On the knitting “menu,” we saw:

Carla՚s baby blanket
Chris՚s crocheted family ornaments
Irena՚s Thermis cowl
Jeannie՚s Fair Isle swatch
Joy՚s baby hat and tiny booties
Margie՚s crocheted snowflake
Naomi՚s hats made with leftovers
Pat՚s shawl
Best wishes to all PKG members and their families for a healthy, happy, peaceful, knit-full holiday season. See you in 2017!

September Meeting

Tuesday, September 13
9:30 am

Bring your knitting, your name tag, your fair stories, and your stash stories!

If you are not sure what to knit next, how about this? Amazing!

Two requests:
  • Sue V., our regular photographer, will not be at the September meeting. Can someone step up to take pictures and send them to Sue? She will post them on our blog.
  • Similarly, if someone goes to the Washington State Fair, will you take pictures of any member entries? And, perhaps, the winning knitting entry?

Stash Extravaganza!

First of all, many — many — thanks to Diane, who brought bags and bags and bags of beautiful yarn for us to share. Apparently, Diane acquired the yarn from others who were clearing their stashes. She donated the yarn to the enthusiastic members of our guild. The donated yarn filled nearly every table and counter top in our meeting room. Thank you, Diane! And PKGers, we hope to see some finished projects soon!

Carla did a little shopping from the donated stash
Carolynʼs hat collection, including the
Seahawks Corkscrew Hat
Patʼs new tank top
Cindyʼs crocheted crocodile stitch ensemble;
you can also find a knit crocodile version
We were happy to welcome Sue B. back to our build. Welcome, Sue!

Sue V., our regular photographer, will not be at the September meeting. If one or two people take pictures and forward them to Sue, she will update the blog.

July Must Be Shawl Month

Numbers were low but knitting skills were high at the July meeting.

Cindyʼs sparkly sideways-knit shawl
Joanʼs Seeds to Flowers Cowl
Joyʼs Batad cowl
Patʼs latest prayer shawl
Joan said she is happily using German short rows on a current project. You can barely see where the turns are. You can search for tutorials on this handy technique.
