Holiday Potluck Meeting

Tuesday, December 9
9:30 a.m.

Our December meeting will feature a potluck brunch and gift collection. For the brunch, bring:
  • A dish to share — sweet or savory — with serving utensils.
  • Your own plate, utensils, napkin, and beverage.
We will collect new, unwrapped toys for kids of all ages as well as handmade hats, scarves, and mittens for a donation to the Edgewood Community Center, where Karen is a volunteer.

Also, bring your knitting and your finished items to show.

Because no one stepped up to be an official leader, we all have to take some leadership for the group.
  • Remember to sign in as you enter the building and again in the meeting room. This is one of the requirements for using the Puyallup Activity Center at no cost.
  • The first to arrive should set up the tables in two parallel rows so that we can better converse and share our projects.
  • Turn off the ringer on your cell phone.
  • Be respectful and do not talk while someone else is showing her work.
  • Bring the pattern name and/or source for the items you show and share. Remember that most patterns are under copyright, no matter how old or “free” they appear. Some designers offer free patterns to bring people to their on-line sites to see patterns for sale. You can lend a pattern or book to someone but you cannot make a copy for her. Be respectful of the designers who rely on income from their patterns.
  • Please limit your show-and-share to two or three items so all members have a chance to show off their beautiful knits. This will allow plenty of time for individual conversations after the presentations.
  • If you know of any local knitting events that might be of interest to the group, send the information (event name, date, web site) to Sue V.
