Election Day Meeting

Tuesday, November 4
9:30-Noon

We are meeting on the first Tuesday in November
because the Veteran’s Day Holiday is on our regular meeting day.

Remember to sign in as you enter the building and in the meeting room.

The first people to arrive should set up the tables in two parallel rows so that we can better converse and share our projects.

Two items for discussion:

Is there any interest in having a potluck and gift collection at the December meeting? In the past we have had a potluck and collected new, unwrapped toys for foster kids of all ages.

Someone must step up and take over the position of president of the Puyallup Knitting Guild beginning in January 2015. Duties include sending the meeting reminder, providing name tents to new members (or finding someone to do this), and being the contact with the Puyallup Activity Center.

Next Meeting — November 4

Attention, knitters! The next meeting will be

Tuesday, November 4
9:30 a.m.-noon

We will meet on November 4 instead of November 11 because the Puyallup Activity Center is closed for Veterans Day.

And be sure to mail in your ballot before you come to knit!

More Knitters!

We had a great crowd — 23 people! — at our October meeting. It is great to see so many knitters, both new knitters and experienced knitters. Just look at all of the pretty things!

Jeannie led a class on Judy╩╝s Magic Cast On, perfect for toe-up socks.

The group discussed two important items:
  • The November meeting will be on Tuesday, November 4, because the Puyallup Activity Center will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, for the Veterans Day holiday.
  • You still have a chance to volunteer to be PKG leader beginning in January 2015. Duties include sending the meeting reminder, provide name tents to new members (or find someone to do this), and be the focal point between the guild and the Puyallup Activity Center.Contact Jeannie if you are interested.

Lots to Talk About at October Meeting

Tuesday, October 14
9:30 am-Noon

Remember to sign in when you enter the building.

Bring your knitting, the pattern name and/or source for your show-and-share items, and your fair entries.

For those who are interested, Jeannie will demonstrate how to do Judy’s Magic Cast On, using one circular needle, for toe-up socks. Bring yarn of your choice with appropriate needles (perhaps worsted weight yarn and US 5 needles for this sample) and the pattern you are thinking of making. Needle length should be between 32 inches and 47 inches.

Also bring a plain sheet of 8 ½” x 11” paper for making a tracing of your feet so you can make a uni-foot template.

Discussion items:
  • New leadership needed. Jeannie has decided to step down as president of our guild, effective January 2015. Duties include sending the meeting reminder, provide name tents to new members (or find someone to do this), and be the focal point between the guild and the Puyallup Activity Center. Who is willing to step up?
  • The Puyallup Activity Center will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, for the Veterans Day holiday. This is our regular meeting  day. We have been offered the first Tuesday, November 4. We will decide what to do about our November meeting.
