Welcome, 2013!

Tuesday, January 8
9:30 a.m.
(regular time and place)

Display case: Jeannie, Libbie, and the display team will set up the guild display on Friday, January 4, at 9 a.m. If you have anything else to contribute, or if you want to help, stop by at that time.

Show and share: Bring your knitting projects and finished objects.

A few people asked Sue V. to show them how to knit to-and-fro (a.ka. “knitting backwards”). This is not a class, but informal one-on-one instruction. If you want to learn, bring the usual: worsted weight yarn in a light, solid color that you can see and needles that suit you and the yarn. For “homework,” cast on 10 to 20 stitches, and knit a few rows of garter so your swatch doesn’t curl, followed by a few rows of stockinette. Stop after a knit row. As you knit the stockinette, study how you place your needle on the purl side. Or, you can study the video.

You also can knit to-and-fro in garter. Again, study how you place your needle.
