Home Run!

Libbie sends these pictures from this year’s Mariners Stitch ’n Pitch on July 26. Libbie said:
“Glorious night, great knitting, got a tattoo, supported World Vision and the Mariners won! The players numbers on the diamond vision were shown in cross stitch. What a hoot.”

Summer Knitting

It looks like summer knitting, with lots of small projects.

In guild business:
  • The picnic will be Tuesday, August 14, at Pattie’s house. Directions were provided in the newsletter. Bring a main dish or salad or dessert or snacks to share (along with serving utensils), your own non-alcoholic beverage, your knitting, show-and-share projects, a lawn or camp chair if you have/want one, sunglasses and/or hat and/or wrap (depending on the weather). Plates and flatware will be provided.
  • Be sure to enter your knitting and other handicrafts in the Pierce County Fair and the Western Washington Fair.
  • We will feature our knitting in the Puyallup Library display case in January 2013. Bring your contributions to the December meeting. Ideas for the display case — charity items, different ways to knit socks, lace, Fair Isle. Volunteer in late December or the first week in January to help set up the display.

July Meeting

We have lots to talk about at the July meeting on Tuesday, July 10, 9:30 a.m., at the Puyallup Library.

August Picnic

Charity Projects
  • Chemo/comfort hats  for the American Cancer Society in Tacoma. Sue V. will deliver them. 
  • Purple baby hats  for Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma. Jeannie will deliver them. 
Library Display
January 2013 at the Puyallup Library. Ideas for the display case — charity items, different ways to knit socks, lace, other ideas? Bring items in December for January display. Volunteer in late December or the first week in January to help set up the display. Thank you, Jeannie, for organizing this.
