Get Ready to Cast On

Cast-on Class!
Tuesday, October 12
9 a.m.

Joan D. has arranged for a four-hour class on different types of cast-ons to be held during our regular meeting at the library, except that we will start promptly at 9 a.m.
For the class you need:
  • A small amount of smooth worsted-weight or DK-weight yarn in two colors; light colors make it easier for you to see your work.
  • Needles in an appropriate size, usually 5, 6, 7, 8. One needle needs to be a circular at least 24 inches long.
  • A medium-sized crochet hook.
  • Scissors, pencil, paper for notes.
There is no cost to guild members. Thanks to Joan, Sonya from Yorkshire Yarns in Lakewood, and instructor Shirley for bringing this useful information.

Stars at the Fair

Congratulations to our guild members who won ribbons at this year's Western Washington Fair in Puyallup.

Sue V. won five ribbons (two firsts, a second, a third, and an honorable mention).

Joan M. won an honorable mention for her beautiful baby outfit.

At the September meeting, the guild discussed setting a goal of at least six (maybe eight?) members entering at least one knitted item in the fair. Any takers?
