Knitting in Public

Guild members plan to be involved in two World Wide Knit in Public Day events in June.
  • Saturday, June 12, Frontier Park in Graham. Joan D. will have details.
  • Saturday, June 19, Allyn Waterfront Park in Allyn, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Plans include participation by several yarn shops a vendors, live music, door prizes.
For both events, plan to bring your knitting, a comfortable lawn chair, sunscreen and hat, water, and a picnic.

We will talk more about these events at the June guild meeting.

May Meeting

Members of the Puyallup Knitting Guild had a lot to show at the May meeting.

Demonstrating what she learned at the Spring Retreat, Nita showed off her mitered squares scarf.

Sue L. finished her cotton-linen market bag.

Joan D. is working on a sweater for great-grandbaby #2.

JJ enjoyed her alpaca lace scarf.

We also welcome Tanya to our group. Tanya is a beginning knitter. Her first project? Socks! Looks like she will be a fantastic knitter.

In club business: Jeanne and Judy offered to organize the 2011 Spring Retreat. No doubt they can expect lots of help and support from guild members.

Coming soon:  World Wide Knit in Public Day, Saturday, June 12. An event is being held at Frontier Park in Graham. Joan D. will find out the details and report at the June meeting. Joan M. will check with Yorkshire Yarns to find out if that shop is participating in an event. Watch here for further details.
