World Wide Knit in Public Day

Two local events are already scheduled for World Wide Knit in Public Day on Saturday, June 13:

Allyn Waterfront Park, Allyn, Washington (near Belfair), 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Six stores! Six! Plus, drawings throughout the day, free mini-classes and yarn shop booths. Picnic tables are limited so bring your lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets. The event is focusing on Warm Up America. This event is sponsored by six local yarn shops: The Yarn Garden, Yorkshire Yarns, A Good Yarn, Fancy Image Yarn, Linda's Knit N' Stitch, and the Allyn Knit Shop.

Wright Park, Tacoma, 501 South I Street, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., sponsored by Lamb's Ear Yarn

Lamb's Ear Yarn will provide a cooler full of sodas to share with participants. All you need is a project, lawn chair and a sack lunch. If you have some worsted weight acrylic yarn or size 7, 8 or 9 aluminum needles you no longer want, bring them to donate for free knitting lessons for interested passersby.
