I've received an invitation from the WW Fair to do a Home Arts demonstration again this year. Or to refer someone who would be interested. Last year's experience showed that fair goers do not want to sit and learn something... they are just passing by and will stop for a moment if something catches their eye. So I've been wracking my brain to come up with an eye-catching subject or project. Naomi suggested the Baby Surprise Jacket, which sounds like a good idea. We could have some in various states of completion along with some of Elizabeth Zimmermann's books. I had also thought about doing something with bead knitting; a scarf or bag or something. Any other suggestions are welcome.
The fair provides tickets for the demonstrator and an assistant, plus a parking pass. The demonstrator can sign up for as few or as many demo times as desired and pick the time of day. If any of you guild members is interested in doing a demo or would like to sit in with me, please let me know. We have until June 15th to make a committment.
Another subject for the next meeting,
